  • What We Offer

  • Study Circle supports community children, youth and seniors….

Since 2010, Study Circle serves the community by delivering a number of programs to support the children, youth and seniors from the community within the Peel and Halton regions. The clients come from diverse and socially marginalized families – recent immigrants, racially marginalized, low-income, predominantly ESL families within Peel-Halton Regions.

We support growth and learning of children/youth from over 200 diverse families each year, through accessible, low to no cost, hybrid programs. The integrated programs are delivered in safe/culturally sensitive environment, focusing on mental, emotional well-being and building life learning skills (e.g. yoga, meditation, nutrition, building soft skills along with academic support).

  • Programs are curated and constantly adapted to serve the emerging needs of diverse community with aim at supporting the community students in learning, building life-long skills, and improving health and wellness. We run weekly programs throughout the academic year, in addition, we run number of targeted camps including Summer Camps.

In addition, our program - Linking Seniors with Children and Youth connects community seniors (mainly from the South Asian Region – India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal) with the children and youth, where the seniors impart the life lessons through storytelling, sharing the learnings and experiences of Sikh and Hindu gurus/saints, from ancient scriptures. Seniors engage by teaching ethnic arts, craft, and music. This provides learning to children and youth, and a great opportunity for seniors to engage, feel valued, also stay connected with community the children and youth.

Since Pandemic, the need in the community for especially the for the emotional/mental health and wellness has exponentially increased both for the community children/youth as well among the seniors. Our consultations within the community highlighted specific needs of the community children/youth and seniors for example there is urgent need for Financial education and Fraud prevention programs. There has been a huge rise in the frauds targeting the community seniors who are not well versed in the English language; are not savvy with the online banking, taxes, and systems of their newly adopted country.
